that's weird.

if you do a search for "mendel lee" on google, my front darknote.org page comes up even though my name is nowhere on the page, nor the source.

yeah, Google's clever...
It doesn't do what the other search engines do as far as spidering. Rather, link popularity. So, if a lot of people who's pages are cataloged by Google have your name, and a link to your site, it'll grab that, and then hit your page for some text to go with it. For instance, do a search for
"Weapons of Mass Destruction" on google (and hit the I feel lucky button, which takes you immediately to the first result.)

That's because a lot of people have that page linked with the heading (or link text) of Weapons of Mass Destruction.

There's some neat things you can do to manipulate Google results, one of my friends is VERY successfull with it...

interestingly enough...
if you do a search for "james malloy" (or "voidwerx" for that matter) on either Google or Yahoo, you get my website.

pretty cool.
