So recently i looked at my profile and discovered that this random person added me to her friends list.

i had no idea if i knew her or not. We have no common friends or common interests on our interests list. So i started reading her journal. She doesn't have a lot of entries - a little over forty. If i had known that, i would have read it in proper chronological order instead of in reverse, but oh well.

Reading all of the entries, i discovered something that seems obvious, but doesn't get enforced enough in regular every day LJ-ing. If i take any individual entry of hers, there's nothing extraordinary about it - she has a pretty distinct style of journal writing, but the entries by themselves don't reveal a whole lot about her personality, the aura that exists behind the words.

But take them all together, look at the big picture... and i *do* start to see the deeper personality, the aura, the real person. Like the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, i put it all together and these formless shapes turn into something more complete, and with this person, i started to see something there that just sparkles.

it almost makes me *not* want to add her to my friends list even though i will. but it does make me think that i should take the time to read peoples' actual Journal Front Pages more as opposed to just reading my own friends page to catch up on people so i can read more entries of Just One Person that spans a longer space of time. When you're right there with someone every day either in LJ or in real life, it can be difficult to see how they change. When i think about where people on my friends list were when i first met them and where they are now, it seems like *such* a different place that i don't realize unless i take a step back and take stock.

it's too bad i can't really devote more time to actually do that with everyone on my friends list.

anyway, i asked her, "do i know you?", and she responded, "no. i started reading your journal a little bit ago and i liked what you wrote. you make me laugh."

*mendel smirk* i'm not sure if there have been many entries as of late that have been worthy of laughing unless people want to laugh *at* me, but hey... i'll take what i can get. i've got at least a partial heart of an entertainer.

And that is why I've always taken my friends list more seriously than most.

good morning, love.

for clarification, you write little things that make me think of other funny little things, and then you are associated with those funny things. I accidently started to spell that with a funny repetition of the letter s and thought of a geeky work joke about putting the ass in association.

I went to a hockey game once.

someone from work gave me tickets and i grabbed my sister and made her go. it was fairly entertaining.. the best part involved one of the players scraping the bloody ice to the side. he was very deliberate about it, and the contrast of the game and his actions shut me up.

hehe.

i'm not so much into the violence of hockey as much as the gracefulness of it. it reminds me of ballet. there's such a flow to the way people move, the line changes, the strategy, etc. that you don't get in a more play-by-play game like football or a slower paced game like basketball. Not that those don't have their own merit (acutally, i really don't like basketball), nut hockey's definitely my fav. that and pool.
