it didn't last that long.

but it was nice that as soon as i went outside, the rain *immediately* drenched me from head to toe. It made me laugh out loud. it was wonderful and made me instantly feel better.

not soon after i set out, it settled into a drizzle which was disappointing, but still... everything just seemed so much more *vibrant*. The clouds were beautiful. The darkness seemed that much more pronounced. it was just what i needed.

I walked around and had a hankering for a fruit smoothie, and one i hadn't tried before, so i actually went into Starfucks and tried their smoothie. It was a good time to go in - person behind the counter was really attractive and smiled at me a lot. a shame i hate the company and the fruit smoothie was only okay.

I wandered over to the EMU to play the 5/22 tournament qualifiers, and Tyler was working, so i hung out with him and Robert and ilovethebeatles for a little bit, and it was fun. And then after a little DDRing, i wandered back home.

During the walk, i was composing in my head - trying to figure out the structure and the notes of the piece i'm writing in memory of Sarah Weems. And while i was walking, it started raining again. it snuck up on me, because the first thing i noticed wasn't the feel of the rain on my body, but the *sound* of the rain enveloping and blanketing rooftops, trees, pavement. *smile* perfect timing.

thunderstorms and rain are great things.

that reminds me!
EMU tourney might actually be a reasonable stop on my way to driving to California. If I come down for it, is there a chance I could maybe crash with you or Tyler or someone for the night, do you think?

I'm not really sure, but I was planning to drive from Seattle on May 22 or 23 I think. So...

i'd have to check with my roommate - there's a lot of hectic things going on with us around then with our lease ending soon, him graduating, all that sort of stuff. I *doubt* it would be a problem, but i'll double check.

Tyler might be a better bet since i don't think he has a roommate to worry about. You also might be able to stay with our friend Andre... he always hosts people.

That would be *awesome* if you came down. :)

you should try the smoothies at common grounds (the place in the dorms where i work) it's like 2.75 which i don't know how compares, but they are pretty killer. probably the best thing we sell.

2.75 is the best price of any smoothie i've had in town.

i'll def. give it a try some time.
