i finally found it.

so in the old version of Mac OS X, you could set your "default browser" in system preferences. But for some reason, that control panel was eliminated in Panther.

the new OS X changed my default browser from iCab to Safari, and i looked for a long time for the control panel or preference or whatever that let me change it. Safari is great and all, and if it wasn't for iCab, i'd be using that more than anything else, but i still think iCab is a better browser.

today when i was trying to isolate and find a setting for something completely different, i found the place where they let me change the default browser.

it's not inside of the System Preferencecs... it's inside of the *Safari browser* preferences.

*shakes head*

Mac, i love you, but what the fuck?
