"identifying a terrorist attack"

one of the side banner adverts on fb this morning reads the following, adverting a book:

"Worried about terrorism? You can now do something to help stop them in their tracks! A practical guide to identifying and helping to prevent a terorrist attack."

it seems to me that 'identifying a terrorist attack' would come in one of two forms: prejudiced/judgemental and "duuuuuuuh". prejudiced/judgemental would be like, "if you see a foreigner wearing a dark trench coat" or "if the guy in front of you in line is tall and fidgets with his hands too much". "duuuuuuuuh" would be like, "if the woman in front of you suddenly opens up her jacket to reveal a bomb on her chest that has a timer set to go off in ten seconds."

that being the case, a "practical guide" is definitely a Class One cock-head-to-the-side-and-scratch-in-confusion. people who are able to practically identify a terrorist attack are likely the sort that on the poker table will say, "oh yeah, i never fold AQ preflop. Who in their right mind would?" ideally those 'induhvidjools' will lose enough money to expert poker players that they can't afford to buy any guns to put their impractical knowledge to impractice. one can only hope.

They don't have to be foriegn looking, if they're sweating profusely, wearing a big puffy coat with wires hanging out, holding something clenched in one hand, staring like they're in a trance, etc. However, the real way to prevent them if that's the case is shoot them in the head, which is kind of drastic if there turns out to be another explanaition for why they're acting like that. ;)

I tried playing a tournament with my friend watching the other night (I tanked partly due to aggressive table, partly due to his lame influence) and it cracked me the hell up how he flipped out every time I folded a "good hand" which was about every two seconds. Made me realize how much I actually have learned since I started playing.
