multi-episode stories in New Who

the most recent episode of Doctor Who, The Poison Sky, has inspired me to write a long loose analysis of the new series particularly when it comes to multi-episode stories. i've been working on the entry for a few days and just finished dressing it up over my lunch break. i welcome comments if you're interested.

i'll have to read if after i've seen the most recent episodes. they're chillin' on DVR at the moment. one comment though - the "The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances" two-parter in eccleston's season was insanely creepy and awesome and not epic at all (which is maybe why it worked so well).

the Daleks and Cybermen got so overdone so quickly and the fact that they killed off The Master in two or three episodes was so fucked. they could have milked that for a long time in a very good way. not to mention the way that they portrayed him after his regeneration was corny and terrible.

tennant has been spending an unhealthy amount of time invading my dreams.

the empty child/the doctor dances remains to be one of the better episodes of New Who to date, although it's surpassed by the series 3 episode 'Blink'. Both of those stories are written by Stephen Moffat.

Yeah, wasn't fond of the way John Simm was forced to play the Master. He did the best he could do under the circumstances.
