I think it was fatass_mcgee who asked about the construction of the chart Smooth Criminal during the tourney. I wasn't able to give a completely full answer at the time, but in case people are interested, i wrote a resonate entry that details how i put it together and why it wasn't as simple as it should have been.

yesterday i drove up to corvallis and ended up eating dinner with foti at a restaurant called China Blue. It was a decent chinese place, and made me wonder whether or not it had any affiliation with the China Blue here in Eugene.

i think i want a butterscotch krimpet.

I think it was Sumner who asked. I understood immediately cause I've tried to do the same thing before.

I'd say you succeeded far greater than I did though. ;D

thanks. you can thank tyler for coming up with the method of ensuring the sync doesn't drift given stepmania's impreciseness.

I could send you some krimptets...but would you still be in the mood for 'em by the time they got there? :)

I've had to use that workaround method for stepcharts once. It's such a pain in the ass, honsetly. I think the way I did it was find a number of beats that adds up to a clean-ish number (like, x beats = a.bc00 sec) and adjust individual pauses around that, kind of like the triplet quantization in ddr.

Wow, that's a nice workaround. Must have been a total pain in the ass to do.
