frito pie

on the british/american cultural discussion LJ comm i belong to, a UK resident who recently came to the united states ended up having frito pie for the first time and was asking more details about it, and it spurned a huge a 40+ comment thread of US residents trying to describe what fritos were and what they tasted like.

Though we do get some American snack food here (other than what's sold in specialist stores), Fritos aren't one of them. I can get Oreos (original kind), Doritos and Pringles but not Fritos. Yes, it was an interesting read. :)
