sygt

so i'm playing in a $18,000 guarantee tournament right now. I just suffered a loss in chips getting all in preflop 66 vs 10 10, so i was medium short stack.

in the small blind i get 10J. everyone folds around to me. Decent heads up hand, and i'm glad to have a fold, so i push all in. bb calls and has A7. board comes 89xxQ, giving me a straight.

i put in the chat window a "whew", and the bb player typed in "sygt." i wasn't sure what it was supposed to be... felt like an acronym that i should know, like "shut your goddamned trap" or something. i typed it into google, and on urbandictionary.com, it said that 'sygt' was slang for some sort of foreign sausage. That didn't seem right.

on the previous table, there was a player and an observer that were putting out korean kanji, and it occurred to me that maybe it was a foreign word. SO i looked at country of the player: Denmark. I stuck "sygt" into google translate, and it spit out "sick".

it made me laugh. it's interesting how certain hand reactions are the same no matter where you are on the globe.
