indecipherable lyrics

def leppard and nirvana were fairly notorious for having a singing style that required you to have some sort of specialized deciphering ability to understand what the eff they were saying.

are they any current bands out that have that sort of trend? not that i listen to a lot of current music, but i can't think of any off of the top of my head and it makes me wonder if it's significant of the time period and musical trend that has since past.

well. aside from [this] of course.

I find most lyrics indecipherable, so I'm not the person to give you an opinion. ;) (and I do better than my bro, who's a musician... he has some hearing loss from repeated ear infections.)

i generally find lyrics undecipherable too mainly because i don't listen to a lot of music that has them. But nirvana and def leppard had a particular reputation for it, you know? it's why the Weird Al song "Smells like Nirvana" even exists.

this could be the reason why i don't listen to a lot of lyric-based music anymore. take away the meaning of the lyrics, you get a lot of repetitive stuff that isn't always as interesting, decreases my appreciation.

which is all speculative but works for me right now. :)
