anti-smoking adverts

Most of the people i talk to who smoke say that anti-smoking adverts only serve to make them want to smoke more as opposed to smoke less.

I mean, hell. i'm not a cigarette smoker, and anti-smoking adverts make *me* want to start smoking.

I remember when cigarette adverts were banned from being shown on television. I think it would only be fair that either they would be allowed to reair, or these anti-smoking adverts should be banned too.

Then again, a part of me thinks it's a well-thought out conspiracy. anti-smoking adverts are really a design of cigarette manufacturers to *keep* people smoking. Either that or the same ones who make cigarettes make the anti-smoking stuff too, so they profit either way.

and don't get me started on anti-cigarette or anti-marijuana campaigns vs. the pro-alcohol and sexism campaigns.

gotta love society.

i agree somewhat...

i don't think that there would be such a "problem" with regards to teenage smoking if these ads weren't running. i think for a lot of people, when they're told not to do something, human nature kicks in and makes them want to do it...to see what's so bad about it.

this has been around forever....look at the story of adam and eve...they were told not to eat the apple....but what did they do?

they ate it
