there's a hell of a lot to write about, but i'm so brain dead, and my emotions are still in a vast flurry.

It was a good day, though. a great distraction for all of the other crap going on. This DDR tourney was probably one of the most fun i'd been a part of, and it's also the best i've ever done in a tourney. My PA skills still aren't good enough to beat the likes of Jeff or Angelo, but i still did respectably, and i did *really* well in the challenge tourney.

The way my memory is, i'll forget the challenges before too long, so i'm going to document wha ti do remember of them here. Sorry for those that have no clue what i'm talking about.

1. pass Little Bitch with your left foot on the left arrow the whole time - passed.

2. pass... some tune (i forget which) with inverse scoring (-2/-1/0/1/2), and score in the top 5 or get a strike - passed.

3. Keep your heatlh bar within the threshold of 0-50% on Exotic Ethnic Standard - passed.

4. Get as close to many greats as you do perfects - score in the top 5 or get a strike - passed.

5. Miss no freeze arrows and pass Kiss Kiss Kiss on 1x - strike one. *stupid* strike one too.

6. Play Cartoon Heroes Light on stealth whilst looking at the steps on the player 2 side with the mod "Right" - i OWNED this one. Ended up with 2g. It'd be funny if this was the way i got my first AAA. It's very similar to playing on blind.

7. Get at least a 75 combo, but end up with a score less than 15 mill. on a 2 foot song (i forget which) - passed.

8. Play a tune with 332 steps in it and predict how many perfects you're going to get. Be in the top 4 for accuracy or else get a strike. - strike two.

9. Good attack HVAM Heavy - top two scores advance to the final four - i failed this for strike three, but tyler forfeited his spot in the final four because he had to go to work, so i was in the final four with foxtr841, Jeff, and Sumner.

Final Four Challenge One: Great Attack Tsugaru on mute while a completely different tune is being blasted on a stereo: 4th place.

Final Four Challenge Two: Perfect Attack the first two tunes of Pop4 Nonstop - Marvelouses are 0 points, Perfects are 2, and Greats are 1: 4th place.

Final Four Challenge Three: Perfect Attack Xenon standard with only the player 1 left and down arrows visible and the player 2 right and up arrows visible: 2nd place.

Final Four Challenge Four: Perfect Attack Dynamite Rave Standard on stealth by looking at a step chart, and having the tune muted 2/3rds of the way through: 1st place.

i like challenge tourneys. Not just because i do a good job at it, but because it helps to keep DDR interesting and fresh. PA tech tourneys can only be interesting to a point. Challenge requires much more mental energy and focus. I hope i get to participate in another one.

Sometimes I wish I'd go to a tourny just for the challenge! They sound crazy enough to fun. Some of those I think I could do (maybe) Who came up with those? Or was it a group effort?

toastercookie and trunks7j were the ones that came up with the challenges. They got some suggestions from previous challenge tourneys, but some of them were original ideas. Some were more successful than others.

There wasn't a challenge in there where you had to play Door of Magic as you had to eat a bag of chips...? :'| god, that woulda been the best one....

Re: What??
that didn't end up being used. there were a bunch that they didn't end up using. *shrug* for next time.

when i was talking to deanna, however, the idea of eating a bag of chips while playing was always voted down at bigger tourneys because of some people's inability to have food digesting while playing DDR.
