three short anecdotes

i officially suck at 7key.

it's still true that on 14key or light14, sometimes i'll do a bit worse than my best, but especially recently, i've been getting much better scores. improving steadily... getting more AAs, etc.

i just went back and tried to play 7key, and only once did i get a score that was lower than my best by less than 75.

it's a confusing sentence, but it's right.

a part of me is resistant to writing about what happened during the willamette band camp because i want the memory to stick with me without it having to be set to "paper", but another part of me feels like i really should write about it because otherwise a year from now i might forget how special it was.

i'll work on it sometime this week maybe.

skydiving was supposed to happen this weekend, but jedi can't do it, so tyler's thinking about rescheduling. It's possible that it will happen the week after.

a part of me is tempted to drive out to utah to go to the ddr tourney that's supposed to happen out there, but i don't think i can afford it, especially if i'm going to go skydiving and also get a digital camera. i *did* get paid, but i need to make sure a majority of it goes towards reducing my debt, not buying more toys and thrills.

i need to start writing new charts for the sight-read tourney and just more charts in general. with Tyler's machine going back to the ATAM and with the release of ITG which means production of the next version is coming up soon, chart writing is going to have to be a part of my routine again.

i want to include some of my sight-read stuff as part of my resume to the ITG guys, but i can't because... well... it's a sight-read tourney. no one is allowed to see the charts before the tourney day. even if the ITG team isn't going to participate in the sight-read tourney, it doesn't make me comfortable to have those charts floating around out there.

i have enough charts to build a good resume even without the sight-read stuff, so maybe it's not as big of a deal. i am going to go back and revise them even more (some i've already revised about three times) now that i know more about what is actually feet-able and the difference between something that's challenging vs. something that's just fucking stupid.

so that was four. sue me.

time to play more 20 questions.

Mendel, I bet you could make some wonderful charts for ITG, and they'd be better off having you IMO :)

haven't seen my step charts yet?

oldies but goodies are here:

i'm working on updating the entire website and thus including some of the newer charts i've written plus the revisions i've made, but that'll do you okay for right now.
