Oh, shame on you for considering Yanni to be embarassing. I think Yanni is a genius. Especially for coming up with the idea of having fans surrounding him, while playing his piano (to give that 'hair blowing in the wind' effect). Genius, I tell you. Genius.

Nice to know I still have my wit. Thought I lost it at that ever-boring party yesterday.

not related...
whenever i receive new email, my computer speaks to me the name of the sender.... or at least it tries. There are certain names that it has problems interpreting, and your name is one of them. So when i get comments from you, it says something that sounds like "New Mail from zilife", which sounds very close to my brother's name backwards "xilef" which reminds me of the odd short story he wrote called Xilef.

randomness. interesting how different people can be in person vs. on-line, eh?

Re: not related...
It is interesting. And it's fun making the connections as well.

I liked the story, by the way. Pretty clever.
May. 27th, 2003 01:39 am (UTC)
Re: not related...
glad you liked it. my brother is a genius.
May. 27th, 2003 01:44 am (UTC)
Re: not related...
After reading that story, I wouldn't doubt it.

But is he as genius as our friend, Yanni?
May. 27th, 2003 01:48 am (UTC)
Re: not related...
he's a different kind of genius. one that doesn't involve fans blowing all aroound him to let his hair run wild. maybe because he doesn't have a lot of hair.
May. 27th, 2003 01:52 am (UTC)
Re: not related...
Hm.. Yes, I see what you mean. And because of this, I respect your brother very much.

But just say, he was the type of genius that surrounds himself with fans to allow his hair (or lack of) to blow free against the wind.. Would he be even more genius than he is now?
May. 27th, 2003 02:04 am (UTC)
Re: not related...

i think that it would just make his genius different, not necessarily more.

but really, it doesn't matter. it's all speculation. i mean, only the genius of Yanni could come up with that fan thing. No one can touch that kind of genius.

Re: not related...
You're absolutely right. Nobody could ever top that.

But I could certainly try. Muahaha.

This list of bands is weird and not comprehensive at all...
M - reading this made me want to make you a mix CD...there are a bunch of bands on here I think you would like if you heard them.

Sigur Ros is an Icelandic band who basically made up their own language in these songs, called their album "( )" and made it one big track. They are definitely different...slow rock...lush and beautiful.
Placebo is pretty cool, and very angry at women...with a slightly annoying voice.
Nick Drake wrote that Pink Moon song in some Volkswagen commercials...he passed away.
Aimee Mann wrote a lot of songs in Magnolia...you've seen that movie, haven't you?
Gorillaz: MTV band...Damon Albarn from Blur is in it, and they are all cartoons. I don't get it either.
If you like Portishead, you will love Massive Attack. It's the sexiest music ever.
I thought you'd know Sleater-Kinney...girl band, popular in the 90s...don't ask me what song they wrote.
50 Cent - In Da Club!! He's from Philly. Hiphop that everybody listens to today.

I'm a big music snob...I think it's cuz of the radio show I used to do. If you send me an address, I'll send you a CD!

I'm also big-time procrastinating my school work. So thanks for the diversion!!

ms. a knows music
i find it disconcerting that i know some groups you don't--and not just the pop ones. you must be more of a music snob than i realized!

as for your brother felix, he is a fucking genius. i bow down to his greatness.
