other people's lives.

I've developed a new technique of finding random journals to read other than following the "random" link. I find a community that has a lot of people in it such as rq or rq2, and I look at that community's friends.

The big pro to this technique is that I get to read a lot more people's journals. The big con is that i only get a single entry, maybe two of their journal, which makes any judgement i make premature, whereas if I hit random and get to see a person's full page of entries, I can get a better idea of what the person is all about.

I guess it depends on what kind of mood i'm in, what i want to get out of reading other peoples' entries at that particular time. Sometimes a glance is all i'm interested in. Other times, it's not enough.

okay. frelling tired. it's time to sleep.

Haha. I do the same thing, finding random journals and such. Sometimes, I'll go to a community, and just randomly click on a member.

sometimes i'll do that, but i tend to only do that when something they've posted in that community seems interesting, and that's not a fair assessment of people either.

makes me wonder how many people read *my* journal at random. kind of scary.

me too!
I'm also in the habit of reading random journals. I'm much more indescrimanent though. I'll read a wee bit of just about anyone's journal. I do draw the line at journal's that are just used to communicate between friends however. I've also noticed a large amount of Russian journals. Or at least people who use the Cyrillic (sp) alphabet.

BTW, I'm also a big Brust fan. Not to be confused with big bust fans!

Re: me too!
oh, i'll read a bit of anyone's journal too. Hard to find someone really interesting. Communities have been a better way for me to make friends.

Russian journals are kind of fun. I like looking at the interest listings and finding interests that are the same symbol and wonder what they are.

And yeah... me = big brust fan and *small* bust fan. :)

whoo... twenty three hour drives leaves you pretty exhausted.
