new habits.

recently i've noticed that i've picked up a few new habits. one is that i'm starting to quietly click my tongue in a medium bpm pulse when i'm thinking about or concentrating on something as a "pause for thought" sort of situation or a "how am i going to do this let me organize my thoughts in my head" sort of situation. the second is that i'm starting to say "bye bye" as an exit greeting for telephone calls whereas before i just said, "bye". The third is that when i acknowledge that i understand what someone is saying, sometimes when i'm enthused about it or sometimes in particular contexts, i respond with a string of "yeahs" in rapid succession as opposed to just one. "yeahyeahyeah."

sometimes i can take a look back in my past and see where some of my habits come from. Several months after i came off of tour with the Glassmen, i started saying "eh?" at the ends of my sentences, having been around the caption head long enough who is canadian. I've picked up the habit of saying british sorts of things having been watching a lot of british telly and reading more british things. When i started trying to internalize the tempo of songs on DDR, i would very quietly click my tongue in tempo similar to the "silent dut" i used to do as a part of marching percussion.

these habits - i don't know where i got them. not that it matters much, but i wish i did anyway just so i can continue to evaluate myself and get into my own head. I also don't know what i think of them. they feel like things that i might try to get rid of as they're all variants of "noise" that's not necessary for efficient thought or communication.

*shrug* just random thoughts for the evening. now for some more FCP.

some of those aren't so new, esp the "yeah, yeah, yeah" one. you're just noticing them for the first time.
