wow.

i just received an email from the creators of Chain Factor saying that they think my chain factor video is awesome.

quoth the email:

"That video is great, and it strangely expresses something subtle and profound about the beauty of games, which is located somewhere between the game itself and the performance of the player, much like the complicated relationships in music between genre, composition, instrument, performance, and recording... I’m happy to have been able to collaborate in this remote way on such an interesting piece of work and play!"

i don't know what to say. i think i'm... touched? defintely in awe. something. it feels pretty good.

It probably feels good because it's such a refreshing change from certain video game makers flipping out when footage of their game becomes available on youtube

there's a video up on yt somewhere of this guy who is a big Information Society fan and did a long audio and video mashup of their two big hits from the 80s. It's incredibly well detailed and well executed in so many layers. Information Society has an official youtube presence, and their response to it was to favorite the video and make it the featured video on their youtube homepage.

that's what it's all about.
