When i was younger, i used to go the mall all of the time. on a weekly basis. It was mainly to play in the king of prussia mall arcade. At the time it was called "Space Port", though it eventually changed to "Tilt" which still exists today.
I know quite a few people that treat the mall like computer programming.
10 Determine products to buy
15 Put products on checklist
20 Drive to mall
25 Go to specified stores
30 Buy
35 checklist=checklist-1
40 If checklist=0 then 45 else 25
45 Leave mall
50 Drive home
60 end
</p>For me, the atmosphere of the mall was always one i would enjoy. I'd go and spend hours at a time there wandering back and forth between the arcade, video game stores, music stores, and book stores. And if i saw something interesting, i wouldn't hesitate to stop and look around in a random store.
Today, I went to the Valley River Center, and i forgot how much i enjoyed walking through the mall. Yeah, there was one thing i was looking specifically to buy, but there were other things on my "maybe" list, and i took the time to go to stores on my maybe list and browse, and i also walked around the whole mall just to see if there were any stores that would catch my eye. Because of this, i found out that at the Suncoast Video, the Aqua Teen Hunger Force DVD sold out in 3 hours of release there. I guess more people like ATHF than i thought, and even though the information might be useless, it's still information i like knowing, even if i forget it later on.
Plus, there's the people. I enjoy being in a large crowd of people that are all there for incredibly different purposes. It's almost like the airport except less diverse.
I might go up to the Lloyd Center in Portland on friday because KeeL might be coming into town, and it would be cool to hang out with him again. We'll see what happens, though. I still have somet stuff to get done by monday.

nothing is quite like the KOP mall in terms of just being so impossibly huge and overwhelming. Of course, my mall as a kid was Neshaminy. I went to an arcade at Roosevelt mall in middle school though, and then Franklin Mills in highschool, and then The Gallery, and that's where I still go when I'm in Philly because it's nearby.
I always hung out in the bookstores. Still do :)
Remember gene's books? Is that still there? i hope so.
unfortunately i'm not into books as much as i used to be. I still like reading, but i'm not so into trying out a book to see if i'd like it as much finding a book by an author i already know about.
and i remember franklin mills. i had a cousin that lived around there. i remember when they had that big bowling alley. that was cool.
anyway... gotta run. playing a concert tonight. email me maybe about friday plans.
gene's books? i'm not sure...
I love to read, but yeah, I don't really experiment much anymore either. Depends on the genre; with sci-fi/fantasy I pretty much just stick to known entities, for example. I've been reading a lot of baseball books lately, mostly from friends' recommendations.
i LOVED the bowling alley at Franklin Mills. My brother and I would go there for their weekend afternoon "$15 for 3 hours" lane deal and bowl and bowl and bowl. Then we'd waste time at the arcade until my dad came to pick us up. Those were good times.
yay! I will email you. I just emailed Kyle. Would be great if we could get Tyler to come up to Portland too, and if maybe I could track down the elusive DannyCat, who I liked talking to on IRC but have never met.
Sounds like Friday's a good day to hang out at Avalon, looks like :) I haven't been there in a while and it would be fun. Tho I really don't like the pads (they're not very good), but I need to learn to adjust to machines anyway. Jfyi, I've been playing at Beaverton Wunderland mostly, which I like.
We shall see... T_T And if I do, I'll be sure to bring Jason.
not sure how flexible you two are in terms of schedule or transport... we'll play it by ear.
