setting new LJ priorities

There's a bunch of stuff going on these days, but i haven't written about it much on this LJ vs giving some updates to individual people in email.

Which feels odd because a lot of that is journal-able stuff. I think that i might take some of the emails and post them here in journal format over the next week or so.

i'm also giving some serious thought and energy into finding new people to connect with on here, a reaction to a completely opposite feeling earlier of retiring this journal in favor of finding a new place to set down life blogging roots. The fact is that blogging anywhere isn't nearly as popular as microblogging and general oneliner shares offered by the likes of fb, tw, and g+, so jumping ship to go somewhere else to find a new community where there's less people feels counterintuitive. LJ is not what it was, but it's still pretty huge. i just have to go out and seek new people.

not that i'm going to abandon the energy that i put into g+ and to a lesser extent fb, but all of it is and should be important to my life, i have the time to do it, so i should. Maybe if i get married and have a kid or two, that will change, but for right now, it's time to stop just treading water and maintaining status quo with my blogsphere here. Even if i can find ten new people to connect with in the next few months that can put up with my quirky way of updating my life, that's a step in the right direction.

I probably will start up a dreamwidth account too just to see what that's all about and to try to pull from resources there too since apparently it's pretty easy to transfer and cross post from dreamwidth and LJ. maybe i'll do that next saturday on the 10th anniversary of this LJ.

yaeh, next saturday, my LJ will be ten years old. Weird.

william ium pulls two results, both will ium, neither of which i can tell if they are you or not. friend me, that'll be easier. link to my facebook page is on my profile. definitely down with collaboration if i'm a good fit for them and if i have the time (i'm immersed in a lot of shit right now.)

you've been going crazy here on LJ. i haven't commented on any of it, but i should say that it's fun watching your entries go by. i don't have the time to read all of them in detail, but some i do, and i like 'em. and you were going to abandon this place too. sheit.

Happy 10 years!

I have found some good LJ friends here over the years. I use facebook just to update with the cute things, funny things or "exciting" things we do. Mostly just for family and friends to keep up with us and see pictures.

For me LJ is like therapy. A place to get everything I'm thinking out. I've always liked to write in a journal. It's nice to have a chance to do it and get comments from people who don't always know me in real life.
