growing up some.

So there's a person who posts on the roxorgames.com forums discussing ITG whose user name is "brother [THE WORD]".

typically, i still get a small bit of panic and freaked-out-edness from hearing or seeing the Word, but this guy's username hasn't been bothering me too much.

Of course, if i break my leg when i go to train on DDR today, i might have to never browse those forums ever again.

Regardless, i'll never say, spell, type, or even really think about/say in my head the Word ever for the rest of my waking life.

EDIT: I suppose i should have thought about this more when i posted it. For all of you who are my DDR friends that may now know what the Word is, please please please don't ever say it in my presence. I won't panic the same way i used to, but it will still tense me up.

My parents have a friend who is named "Word" - tell me THAT isn't a tough party to attend! I just cringe and keep reminding myself that it's just her name...it's just her name...

...i'll never hear it and not be freaked out about what may happen in the following minutes...hours...days...

and i'm thinking about it too much right now!!! AAAA!!!

Re: "Word"

it's good to know that i'm not the only one that still feels this way about the word.

yeah... it doesn't bother me as much when i see it on a screen or happen to run across the old ps2 video game that has the word in it, but it still freaks me out when i hear someone actually *say* it. especially around the marching band context, and sometimes the DDR context.

i have researched to figure out what this word is. i do not understand your issue with it, but now that i know what it is, i will refrain from using it in your presence. :)

it's *very* much an inside... "joke", kinda.

people outside of the mythology think it's really stupid.

heh. i converted a few people at Glassmen, though. :)

it's such a tradition. *fond memories*

Tee Hee. I looked it up, but I DARE NOT SAY IT (I don't know the story behind it..but that's ok :B) I looked it up on the forums, while also registering which I needed to do before! :p

i've been better. *shrug* you know. whatever. i'm sick of writing about it, though i will at some point, i suppose.

My band has a song with the word in it, and Ive convinvced them to edit it out, but occasionally they slip up and still say it, so as a precaution I drum really loud when that line is coming up. I try to tell myself that its OK, because its just a Jim Morrison reference, and he is cool, but it still bothers me.
